Ever heard of Integral Medicine? Integral Medicine suggests that there is more than regular Western medical care that is needed for good health. Indian and Chinese medicine have some basic assumptions that we don't have in the West. The most important aspect of Indian and Chinese medicine is that there is more to us than our bodies. The multiple bodies that we have include our Physical Body, our Mental Body of thoughts and emotions, our Energy or Vital Body, our Supramental Body which feels the bigger concepts of the universe (kind of like the Force in Star Wars) and the Bliss Body, when you feel close to all others with Bliss. Some of this explains the near death experiences people have and see themselves hovering over their bodies before beng brought back to life. Integral Medicine is about incorporating some of the treatments of Indian and Chinese medicine into your regular Western treatment. Say your Western treatment is medications and psychotherpy. Then using Integral treatment, additional things you can do for yourself might be helpful. For instance, a better diet with less meat, meditation, yoga, and Tai Chi. Also slowing down from a frenetic schedule could help according to Indian medicine. Being kind to others is also therapeutic per Integral medicine. Some of this stuff is intuitive, but it has been prescribed for many years. I think we in the West are starting to get it.
